Classic Hits KFRC has hired legendary rock critic/writer BEN FONG-TORRES to host "Backstage," a weekly radio program that delves into the deep history of rock in THE BAY AREA. It will air every SUNDAY from 7-9a and online at www.kfrc.com.
FONG-TORRES will recall insider details about some of the greatest artists and songs of his generation. "Backstage" will also feature rarities from his personal music library, along with excerpts from interviews he has conducted with ELTON JOHN, PAUL MCCARTNEY, MARVIN GAYE, BONNIE RAITT, JIM MORRISON and STEVIE WONDER, among others. "But it’s not all about yesterday." FONG-TORRES said. "My weekly show on KFRC will entertain Classic Hits listeners by taking them ‘backstage’ to hear interesting stories and songs from some of my favorite artists."
"KFRC is not just about the music, but the voices and personalities that give THE BAY AREA a rich musical and radio history," says VP/GM STEVE DINARDO. "BEN joins his old friend DAVE SHOLIN and the rest of our star-studded schedule in what is turning out to be a powerhouse radio lineup on KFRC."
