As first reported in ALL ACCESS, long-time JACOR and CLEAR CHANNEL programming ace JACK EVANS has officially been named VP/Programming for GAPWEST.
EVANS brings over 20 years of radio programming experience, much of it gathered at the same stations he will oversee at GAPWEST. After honing his programming skills at JACOR COMMUNICATIONS, he was promoted to SVP/Programming, MIDWEST and ROCKY MOUNTAIN Regions after CLEAR CHANNEL acquired JACOR.
"My motto is ‘keep your friends close and your enemies’ closer'," stated GAP WEST Pres. SKIP WELLER. "I competed against JACK in DENVER and wasn't interested in repeating that experience. The best move for GAPWEST was to recruit him for our team. These are great stations and Jack’s trademark is all over them. It was a natural choice, and I have a great deal of respect for JACK."
"Joining GAPWEST is like going home," EVANS said."We're small, nimble and we play to win. GAPWEST programming is going to be edgy, in your face and noticeable, just the way radio used to be. I'm thrilled to be a part of the return of radio to its roots."
