This week was the Senate's turn to approve the FY 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education appropriations bill, and that means both houses have passed measures to grant the CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING a $420 million advance appropriation for fiscal year 2010 ($20 million more than FY 2009) plus $29.7 million for public broadcasters' digital transition in 2008 (same as 2007) and $26.75 million in 2008 for the initial stage in the replacement project of the radio interconnection system (about $7.9 million less than 2008).
The bill, passed 75-19, and a similar House version passed earlier this year, must now be reconciled before going for final passage and signature from the President.
