The flip of noncommercial Contemporary Christian WMCU to Classical under new owner AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP has drawn a lawsuit from two supporters of the former "89.7 SPIRIT FM," who assert that APMG and former owner TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY breached a contract and used deceptive business practices by accepting donations in support of the old format and then dropping the programming.
The suit was filed by attorney ALEXANDER J. ALFANO using GARY MATTHEWS and LILLIAN S. DELGADO as nominal plaintiffs for the class; it seeks $15,000 in damages and an injunction to block the sale. The station, now WKCP, made the previously-reported flip on WEDNESDAY.
