NPR's Sullivan Wins Schorr Prize

BOSTON UNIVERSITY and its noncommercial WBUR/BOSTON name NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO correspondent LAURA SULLIVAN as the 2007 winner of the DANIEL SCHORR Journalism Prize. SULLIVAN is being honored for her series, "Solitary Confinement in U.S. Prisons," airing on "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" in JULY 2006.

"LAURA SULLIVAN's series was uniformly very well written, presented with piercing clarity, and offered multiple, highly relevant perspectives," said LAWRENCEE GROSSMAN, the former NBC NEWS and PBS President who served as senior judge. "Gaining access to these maximum-security prisons, to the prisoners, ex-prisoners and guards was quite a coup."
