THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8th through SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10th, LINCOLN FINANCIAL Top 40 WSTR (STAR 94)/ATLANTA presented the 5th annual "STAR 94 Cares For Kids Radio-thon" to benefit the Children’s Healthcare of ATLANTA.
STAR 94's CINDY & RAY, TOM SULLIVAN, SHANNON HOLLY, & NUDGE all hosted the three-day marathon broadcast to raise money and awareness for this premier non-profit children's hospital. The response from the STAR 94 listeners was simply overwhelming as the donations added up to an amazing $1,212,437. This year’s donations added to a five-year tally that brings the grand total to a staggering $5.8 million. All of the money raised will remain in ATLANTA and will be used only for patient care.
"It was extremely gratifying to see so many individual contributions to this wonderful cause. In radio, we have the pleasure of bringing the joy of music to our listener’s lives and on this day, we got to bring them hope as well. Thank you, ATLANTA, for helping STAR 94 make miracles happen," said VP/GM MARK KANOV.
