Virgin Radio Drops Two Digital Stations

Shuts Down Digital Stations

SMG's VIRGIN RADIO will shut down Urban AC digital station VIRGIN RADIO GROOVE and will not launch another digital channel, Top 40/Rhythmic VIRGIN RADIO VIVA, on CHANNEL 4 RADIO's national U.K. digital multiplex next year as previously scheduled. 

The company says that the pullout from the two digital stations is a refocusing on core brands. SMG continues to operate digital Active Rock VIRGIN RADIO XTREME and VIRGIN RADIO CLASSIC ROCK.
