TRIBUNE CO. revenues fell 9.3% in OCTOBER to $383 million, blamed on a 7.9% drop in publishing revenues, a 10.6% decline in ad revenues on the print side, and a 13.3% drop in broadcasting and entertainment group revenues to $96 million due to a slip in TV revenue and decreased CHICAGO CUBS revenue.
Radio/entertainment revenues fell due to five fewer CUBS games in the month. Revenues for the company's only radio property, Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, are not reported separately.
