Carrie Underwood Makes History

Congratulations to the staff of ARISTA/NASHVILLE as AMERICAN IDOL winner, CARRIE UNDERWOOD made history this week. Her debut, "Some Hearts," moved 314,549 units this week, its first week of release, making her the highest debuting new Country artist in the SOUNDSCAN era.

The sales numbers put her on top of the BILLBOARD TOP-COUNTRY Albums Chart and No. 2 on the BILLBOARD Top-200, which ranks all genres.
