The TV reporter whose live shot was disrupted by an OPIE AND ANTHONY fan blasting an air horn in his ear is suing the radio personalities for causing "severe and permanent" damage to his hearing.
The BERGEN RECORD reports that ABC O&O WABC-TV/NEW YORK reporter ANTHONY JOHNSON and his wife, WNBC-TV reporter PAT BATTLE, are suing GREGG "OPIE" HUGHES, ANTHONY CUMIA, fan JOHN D. WALTON, and XM SATELLITE RADIO for compensatory and punitive damages for the DECEMBER 6, 2005 incident, which was part of O&A's "Assault on the Media" campaign to disrupt local TV news live shots. Attorney ROSEMARIE ARNOLD says that JOHNSON suffered permanent ear damage and loss of balance.
