CBS RADIO Country WQYK/TAMPA morning star CLEDUS T. JUDD did his last show this morning, saying goodbye to his listeners on-air. OM MIKE CULOTTA told ALL ACCESS that JUDD had eight months left on his contract; however with JUDD's mother ailing, the station has let him out of his deal early so he could move to ATLANTA. "We would never want to stand between someone and their family,' said CULOTTA. "He's been a great personality for us and an asset to WQYK. It was a pleasure to work with CLEDUS.
Rumors have been out there for months about the chances of JUDD landing at CLEAR CHANNEL's ATLANTA Country WUBL for mornings. Stay tuned on that one.
Meanwhile in TAMPA, CULOTTA has a full-on search for a new morning personality that is, 'funny, excited and quick-witted.' He added: 'Ya know, it's not mandatory that this person has worked in radio before -- if they're exciting and entertaining, we have plenty of great people on that show to do the heavy lifting."
