Charles Mefford Passes

Long-time MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCAST GROUP manager, shareholder and partner in the CHARLES D. MEFFORD passed away at a FLORIDA hospital after a brief illness on DEC. 6th.

CHUCK started at MID-WEST as PD of Top 40 WISM/Madison, before becoming Pres./GM of WITL/Lansing. Chuck retired to Florida after the sale of the LANSING stations in 1989.

Current MID-WEST Pres. TOM WALKER issued the following statement:"For many of us, the memories of the early leadership of the MID-WEST family were of 'The Big Four'; JOE MACKIN SR, PHIL FISHER, BILL WALKER and CHUCK D. MEFFORD as they traveled to the various group markets implementing management, sales and programming systems which laid the foundation for the group as we know it."
