UNIVISION MUSIC GROUP President JOSE BEHAR has sued his parent company UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS, charging that it breached its fiduciary duty to his own company to avoid paying the proper value for his 10% equity stake in the music division.
BEHAR's DIARA company owns 10% of UNIVISION MUSIC GROUP, which is being spun off by UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS; the parent company must buy out DIARA in the process, and the NOVEMBER 21 suit alleges that the parent company cut back on TV marketing of the music company's product and blocked BEHAR from reducing costs and inking longterm beneficial deals.
