It's like old times again in DALLAS, as CLEAR CHANNEL has revived Rock KEGL (THE EAGLE), effective immediately. The new format replaces Spanish-language Oldies "LA PRECIOSA."
Assuming programming duties of the EAGLE and sister Alternative KDGE (THE EDGE) will be CC/HOUSTON Dir./Rock VINCE RICHARDS, who will officially become OM of all five CC/DALLAS properties on JAN. 7th. to take over OM duties of all five of the company's Big D properties, which also include Alternative KDGE (102.1 the Edge). Current KDGE programmer DUANE DOHERTY will segues to programming AAA KZPS.
CC/DALLAS Pres./Market Manager J.D. FREEMAN told ALL ACCESS that the EAGLE left in MAY of 2004, and we've done research since then. We found two things: 1) that there was a large base of rock fans in DALLAS; and 2)The EAGLE still had a terrific reputation with that audience. That why we decided to use the EAGLE brand."
Currently, the station is running jockless. Expect to live air talent in the new year, with brand new station website and streaming as soon as next week.
