Two weeks after he was dropped from CAPITAL 95.8's SATURDAY afternoon program, DAVE BERRY is moving to the same slot on its GCAP MEDIA/LONDON sister station, XFM, reports THE GUARDIAN. BERRY, who has appeared on MTV and CHANNEL 4's T4, will present his new show from JANUARY 5th, part of a number of changes on the LONDON station, including a new show for its long-serving DJ, IAM CAMFIELD.
CAMFIELD, one of XFM's original line-up of DJs when it launched 10 years ago, announced earlier this year he would be quitting the station to join CBS Alternative WXRK (K-ROCK)/NEW YORK. However, he will continue to be heard on XFM in a SUNDAY evening show, Import:Export, showcasing the best of the NEW YORK music scene live from the K-ROCK studios.
In other changes, MARTIN BATE is to take over the SUNDAY night rock show, from 10p to 1a. This is networked across all XFM's stations in LONDON, CENTRAL SCOTLAND, MANCHESTER and SOUTH WALES.
JON JILLCOCK takes over the XFM/LONDON SATURDAY night show from 9p to 1a on a permanent basis.
BERRY, who replaces GRAEME SMITH in the SATURDAY afternoon slot, said: "I feel as if I have been out in a cold harsh musical wilderness and all of a sudden XFM have pressed my head into its ample bosom and now everything is warm and good again."
