THERADIO.COM LLC has reached an agreement whereby ENVISION RADIO NETWORKS will serve as its affiliate relations partner, marketing The Company’s 100-plus formats to commercial and non-commercial radio stations. Currently over 1,600 U.S. radio stations have made the conversion to HD broadcasting, but almost half that number has yet to initiate an HD2 channel, as the new digital technology permits.
"We’re pleased to have ENVISION RADIO NETWORKS as our partner in marketing HD multi-channel programming to broadcasters," commented THERADIO.COM Pres./CEO REED BUNZEL. "Across the country HD Radio is being marketed as providing ‘stations between the stations,’ but it’s surprising that so many broadcasters have yet to fulfill that promise. In order for HD technology to provide a rewarding listening experience, radio broadcasters must commit to giving those folks who buy HD Radio receivers something to really talk about. The satellite guys invested unfathomable amounts of money to get consumers to buy their radios, and the broadcast radio industry needs to treat HD as better than anything that’s out there -- which it is."
