While SONY BMG has drawn a lot of consumer blowback over the copyright protection software embedded on CDs that leaves computers vulnerable, according to BUSINESS WEEK, NEW YORK Attorney General ELIOT SPITZER is concerned that as late as last week (11/23), his team was able to still purchase affected CDs.
SPITZER told BUSINESS WEEK in a written statement: "It is unacceptable that more than three weeks after this serious vulnerability was revealed, these same CDs are still on shelves, during the busiest shopping days of the year. I strongly urge all retailers to heed the warnings issued about these products, pull them from distribution immediately, and ship them back to SONY." For the full story, just click here.
