Cumulus Flips WWWQ To Rock 100.5; Rob Roberts Named PD

As first tipped on ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 1/25), THE REGULAR GUYS launched the new Rock format on the former CUMULUS Top 40 WWWQ/ATLANTA signal on 100.5 FM at 6a this morning. Q100 PD ROB ROBERTS will also be PD at ROCK 100.5.
ALL ACCESS has obtained a sales piece that specifies LYNYRD SKYNYRD, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, GUNS N' ROSES, FOO FIGHTERS, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, JIMI HENDRIX, DEF LEPPARD, GREEN DAY, LED ZEPPLIN, AEROSMITH, METALLICA, VAN HALEN, PINK FLOYD, NIRVANA, THE WHO, PEARL JAM and RUSH as core artists.
THE REGULAR GUYS are LARRY WACHS and ERIC VON HAESSLER, formerly of crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Rock WKLS (96 ROCK, now PROJECT 9-6-1) and CBS Talk KLSX/LOS ANGELES. Rejoining LARRY and ERIC are: TIM ANDREWS, most recently on the 99X morning show and previously a REGULAR GUYS sidekick/character voice specialist on 96 ROCK; and SOUTHSIDE STEVE RICKMAN, who also worked alongside the REGULAR GUYS at 96 ROCK, as well as in afternoons with TIM RHODES, and who was more recently at CITADEL Country WYAY (EAGLE 106.7).
