The NEW YORK TIMES CO. has named two new candidates for its Board of Directors. Lawyer ROBERT DENHAM and DRUGSTORE.COM CEO DAWN LEPORE are the new nominees, whose names come to the table as investment firm HARBINGER CAPITAL PARTNERS, which increased its stake in the TIMES from 4.9% to 10%, is seeking to name four candidates of its own to the board. DENHAM and LEPORE would replace SARA LEE CORP. Chair/CEO BRENDA BARNES and former GILLETTE Chairman/CEO JAMES KILTS on the TIMES board.
The company's shareholder meeting is set for APRIL 22nd. The TIMES owns Classical WQXR/NEW YORK.
