Rumors are running rampant that the Top 40 format could be making a return to the CHATTANOOGA airwaves on the 96.5 signal currently occupied by BAHAKEL AAA WDOD (THE MOUNTAIN).
When contacted by ALL ACCESS, Dir./Programming DANNY HOWARD said, "We thank all of our CHATTANOOGA competitors for listening to 96-5, THE MOUNTAIN so intently and being so pre-occupied with the direction of our station. I’m sure that they will continue to listen with envy in the future. It is our intention to continue delivering compelling radio for CHATTANOOGA listeners that delivers real results for our advertisers. 96-5, THE MOUNTAIN will live on. We invite everyone to continue listening and chatting about us."Top 40 has been absent from the market since last year when CLEAR CHANNEL's WKXJ flipped to Country, and WDOD's healthy 100kw signal would serve as a more-than-adequate "flamethrower" for a Top 40 format. Stay tuned!
