SBS Launches All-News Red 96

SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM is about to launch RED 96 (NOTICIAS FM), the first 24/7 News station for the U.S. and PUERTO RICO. RED 96 will begin broadcasting on MONDAY, FEB. 25th, 2008. 

The station will have a network of correspondent journalists stationed in several major cities, including SAN FRANCISCO, CHICAGO, NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES and MIAMI. All of these cities will have regular, live broadcasts directly from their respective locations. The new programming for the station will consist of a staff of renowned journalists and political analysts, including OSCAR J. SERRANO, OMAYA SOSA PASCUAL, JESÚS RODRÍGUEZ GARCÍA, YOLANDA VÉLEZ ARCELAY, JAY FONSECA and BENNY FRANKIE CEREZO.

"I am proud to be a part of this historic event, and believe this is the opportune time to launch such an important project for Latinos in the U.S. and PUERTO RICO," SBS-PUERTO RICO SVP/GM CARLOS "TOPY" MAMERY said.
