CITADEL Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES morning host DOUG MCINTYRE is premiering a documentary movie he wrote, produced, and directed with his wife PENNY PEYSER about legendary jazz trumpeter and singer JACK SHELDON, the voice behind some of the more memorable "SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK" segments ("I'm Just a Bill," "Conjunction Junction") and a member of MERV GRIFFIN's talk show house orchestra.
"TRYING TO GET GOOD: THE JAZZ ODYSSEY OF JACK SHELDON" will make its debut on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th at the MAJESTIC CREST THEATER in the WESTWOOD section of LOS ANGELES in a screening hosted by KABC. The film features appearances by GRIFFIN (in his last on-camera appearance), CLINT EASTWOOD, BILLY CRYSTAL and many jazz and composing greats, as well as SHELDON himself, with archival footage and new scenes with SHELDON's 17-piece orchestra.
