Former ENTERCOM Classic Rock WCMF/ROCHESTER, NY morning stallworth BROTHER WEASE will be returning to the airwaves on CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Hits WFXF (95.1 THE FOX), reports THE DEMOCRAT AND CHRONICLE. "THE FOX has been doing a great job as it is, without the benefit of a high-profile morning show," WEASE said. Now, he will be that high-profile show. The question is: Starting when?
Interestingly, WEASE's first duties for his new employers will be in sales. Because of a noncompete clause in his contract with his former employer, he cannot work for a rival station for a specific time. WEASE said he does not know how long that situation will last. Noncompete clauses are usually for a year, although WEASE expects to be on the air sooner.
According to CLEAR CHANNEL/ROCHESTER VP/GM KAREN CAREY, "I would say months, not weeks."
In the meantime, WEASE will be building his new show, hiring a producer, comedian and female co-host. "Same show as the last show, except different people," he said WEDNESDAY.
WFXF's current morning host, J.P. HASTINGS, will take a later slot when WEASE moves in.
