A recent JACOBS MEDIA poll has found a much higher than normal interest in the presidential campaign. Overall, 84% of the more than 27,000 respondents plan to vote in this NOVEMBER. The interest lead the consultancy to conclude that contrary to the notion that talking politics can be too "polarizing to the audience, these results suggest that listeners representing broad ages, geographies, and format choices are very much engaged by the Presidential contest."
In terms of party affiliations, 30% call themselves as Democrats, 22% call themselves Republican, and 21% call themselves Independents. The rest either name a different party, prefer not to answer, or simply refuse to categorize themselves as a member of any political party. Women and fans of Alternative radio skew toward the Democratic side of the aisle, while men and Classic Rockers lean Republican.
So far. BARACK OBAMA is attracting the most "votes" with 26%, JOHN MCCAIN attracted 22%, and HILLARY CLINTON had 18%, MIKE HUCKABEE, RON PAUL and even RALPH NADER got mentions ... as did write-in votes for TED NUGENT (3) and MICKEY MOUSE (11).
