Gervais Schedules Two Holiday Shows For BBC Radio 2

Actor-comedian and former XFM/LONDON weekender RICKY GERVAIS, whose weekly podcast launched this week through the GUARDIAN's website, has added a pair of holiday shows for BBC RADIO TWO. 

GERVAIS, his "THE OFFICE"/"EXTRAS" writing partner and radio sidekick STEPHEN MERCHANT, and producer KARL PILKINGTON will do shows for the network at 10a on CHRISTMAS EVE (a show discussing bad CHRISTMAS presents) and NEW YEAR'S EVE (lampooning the NEW YEAR's Honours list). GERVAIS' "EXTRAS" recently concluded its first season run on HBO and BBC1 and will return for another season next year; he has also written and will provide his voice to an episode of "THE SIMPSONS" later this season.
