BONNEVILLE/PHOENIX VP/Market Manager ERIK HELLUM will exit, effective April 28th, to accept an opportunity with a new West-coast-based radio company. Replacing him will be current BONNEVILLE/SEATTLE VP/Market Manager SCOTT SUTHERLAND. BONNEVILLE EVP DREW HOROWITZ will assume interim management duties until a successor is named.
"ERIK has done some wonderful things for us," Pres./CEO BRUCE REESE. "In the six years he has been with BONNEVILLE, and we wish him the absolute best in the opportunity that awaits him. He did a great job for us when he was GM of our ST. LOUIS stations, and his talents and foresight made a huge contribution for us in PHOENIX when he managed, oversaw and transitioned several major, very successful initiatives for us following our entry into that market."
"It’s difficult for me to put into words how wonderful my experience with BONNEVILLE has been," HELLUM said. "The leadership, stations, values, and most of all, the people, are best of class in the industry. I'm very excited about my new opportunity and wish my friends at BONNEVILLE nothing but the best."
SUTHERLAND's first gig with BONNEVILLE was in 2005 as GSM of the PHOENIX cluster. For the past several months he has been VP/Market Manager for BONNEVILLE/SEATTLE. "We're deeply pleased to have SCOTT returning to Phoenix," REESE stated. "He knows that market well and will bring with him not only his 15 years of radio industry experience, but also the considerable management talents and ability he has utilized to successfully grow our SEATTLE properties. We are fortunate to have a professional like SCOTT to step into the leadership role in our PHOENIX group and continue the momentum of success and growth created there by ERIK."
"I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to return home to PHOENIX and for the opportunity to work again with the great BONNEVILLE staff that has been assembled there. At the same time, I want to thank the extremely talented people of our BONNEVILLE/SEATTLE group for their efforts. I know they will accomplish more great things."
