As previously reported by ALL ACCESS, the NEW YORK POST is reporting that INFINITY's soon-to-be-Talk WXRK (92.3 FREE FM)/NEW YORK is in talks to bring sister Talk KIFR/SAN FRANCISCO temporary morning show THE DOGHOUSE in as midday hosts for the new format, effective JANUARY 3. THE DOGHOUSE- JEFF "JV" VANDERGRIFT and ELVIS MEDINA- have told their SAN FRANCISCO listeners that they're heading for NEW YORK, but WXRK GM TOM CHIUSANO said on HOWARD STERN's show last week that the deal has not been completed.

Meanwhile, STERN said MONDAY morning that according to a rumor he's heard, "we hear at 2:00 today, TOM is going to fire the entire (music) staff" at WXRK. "Why would they fire the entire music staff? What would they play?" STERN asked, and producer GARY DELL'ABATE said that the station could track music with board ops until the format flips on JANUARY 3. CHIUSANO denied the rumor, saying that a meeting with VP of Programming MARK CHERNOFF at 2p TODAY will be to outline the plans for the final two weeks of the format but that "everyone... knows whether they're staying or going," adding that midday host JULIE SLATER has been offered a weekend music show on the station.
CHIUSANO also deflected STERN's question about whether INFINITY plans to pull the plug on STERN's show a day early (before the planned "final show" gala on FRIDAY), saying that if there is such a plan, nobody has told him about it.
