Station Owner John Powley Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime station owner and manager JOHN R. POWLEY, who died on APRIL 6th in ALTOONA at 72. 

POWLEY owned WHGM (now WALY)/ALTOONA and ABC affiliate WOPC-TV (now WATM)/ALTOONA, putting both stations on the air and selling the stations in 1986 (WOPC went dark in 1982 before returning under new ownership). More recently, POWLEY consulted and managed TV stations and owned several LPTV stations and permits.
