JEFFERSON-PILOT Country KYGO/DENVER presents the KYGO CHRISTMAS CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN. Local law enforcement agencies have nominated 5,078 needy children in the DENVER area to benefit from the program. KYGO has been airing the stories of these children for the past few weeks and listeners can call to sponsor a specific child and cover their needs. As of today (12/13), 2,771 children remain unsponsored with one week left to call in.
On MONDAY (12/19) a police escorted procession of about 100 cars and KYGO station vehicles will make it's way to the local K-MART to spend tens of thousands to cover the wishes and requests of any children left unsponsored. SANTA CLAUS himself is expected to make his entrance in a helicopter to kick off the shopping frenzy. Once the officers return to CAMP GEORGE WEST in GOLDEN, OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE will be on hand to feed the masses. Once their tummy's are full, they begin the process of separating and bagging the items to ensure that the proper items go to the right child. Then each officer is responsible for hand delivering the gifts to each family that they nominated.
