ENTERCOM Sports WSSP-A/MILWAUKEE host STEVE "SPARKY" FIFER has made the mistake of promising to stay awake on a "sleep strike" until the MILWAUKEE BREWERS, in the throes of a six-game losing streak, finally win another game. FIFER, who's been up since 7a CT WEDNESDAY morning, will be up until at least late TONIGHT, when the BREWERS play ST. LOUIS at MILLER PARK.
"I see it as karma," said a groggy FIFER. "People have blamed me for the BREWERS' losing streak and the way I see it, if I suffer a little bit, I can pull this team out of the slump it’s in. Hopefully, it happens tonight."
"Only SPARKY would do something as crazy as this," said PD RYAN MAGUIRE. "But once he gets an idea in his head, it’s hard to talk him out of it. This sleep strike is his choice, not ours. However, we’re keeping an eye on him, making sure he doesn’t drive and that he stays hydrated. If we see that he needs medical attention, we’ll make sure he gets it."
