SCOTT HENNEN's SMAHH COMMUNICATIONS II LLC files the paperwork to buy Oldies KEGK (EAGLE 106.9)/WAHPETON-FARGO, ND from GUDERIAN BROADCASTING, INC. with the FCC, showing that HENNEN is paying $1.97 million for the station. HENNEN, who is operating KEGK under an LMA, owns crosstown WZFN-A, which HENNEN plans to flip to Talk featuring his own "HOT TALK" show and ABC's SEAN HANNITY in the lineup on or around JULY 1st.
In another transaction filed with the FCC, HERITAGE RADIO PARTNERS' LB RADIO OF CHATTANOOGA, LLC is transferring silent WSAA/BENTON-CHATTANOOGA, TN to THOMAS J. CASHMAN's WSAA LLC in exchange for forgiveness of debt. The station went silent last NOVEMBER.
And LIFETALK RADIO, INC. is donating the construction permit for new noncommercial WCGN/CALHOUN, GA to GEORGIA-CUMBERLAND ASSOCIATION OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS as a charitable contribution. To allow the deal to proceed, the donee is in turn transferring low power FM WLOJ-LP/CALHOUN to WLOJ-LP, INC. DARREL STARKEY sits on the board of directors of both donor and donee in the latter transaction but will recuse himself from the operation of WCGN in order to comply with LPFM ownership restrictions.
