MACQUARIE RADIO Talk 2GB/SYDNEY late night host BRIAN WILSHIRE has apologized for on-air comments accusing some Lebanese Australians of being inbred. The comments came as police in SYDNEY girded to prevent a repeat of last week's racially-motivated rioting at CRONULLA BEACH.
WILSHIRE said on WEDNESDAY night that many Lebanese "have parents who are first cousins whose parents were first cousins. The result of this is inbreeding– the result of which is uneducationable (sic) people...and very low IQ." AAP reports that WILSHIRE was off the air THURSDAY and issued a retraction and apology to the Lebanese community.
