Twins' Company Shopping For More Stations

Could the broadcasting company owned by the family which owns the MINNESOTA TWINS be back in the market for more radio stations? The family of TWINS owner CARL POHLAD owns NORTHERN LIGHTS BROADCASTING, owner of Top 40-Rhythmic KTTB (B 96)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL, and the MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE's JUDD ZULGAD reports that NORTHERN LIGHTS President STEVE WOODBURY confirmed the company's interest in buying two more FM stations, making one all-Sports.

"We've talked to CLEAR CHANNEL, but is there anything imminent? No. I think in the next six months [that could change]," WOODBURY told ZULGAD. "I would love to do a sports station. But there are other formats being underserved." TWINS game broadcasts presently air on HUBBARD's crosstown KSTP-A under a contract that expires after the 2010 season.
