SBS/LA Hit With Proposed EEO Fine But Licenses Renewed

Four subsidiaries of SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM has been hit with a Notice of Apparent Liability by the FCC for $20,000. for EEO violations at Hurban KXOL (LATINO 96.3) and Spanish KLAX (97.5 LA RAZA)/LOS ANGELES and Urban KDAY/REDONDO BEACH and KDAI/ONTARIO, CA, the latter two stations being operated by STYLES MEDIA pending closing of their sale to STYLES). 

Despite the proposed fine for failure to recruit adequately for several positions, the FCC granted the license renewals for all four stations, although the licenses will be under reporting conditions for a three year period.
