The RADIO ADVERTISING BUREAU (RAB), in conjunction with BMI and the MENTORING AND INSPIRING WOMEN (MIW) in Radio Group, is about to launch a new program to promote advancement of women in Radio management. Titled Rising through the Ranks, this two-day training program is designed to support women in obtaining positions in Radio sales management and enhancing their overall management knowledge and skills.
"Recent industry reports have revealed that while progress has been made over the past few years, there is still much more that needs to be done to ensure that women have the opportunity to advance to management positions within our industry," MIW spokesperson HEIDI RAPHAEL said.
BMI will provide 15 scholarships to the training course, which will be conducted at RAB’s GARY FRIES RADIO TRAINING ACADEMY in DALLAS, SEPTEMBER 9-10 and is limited to a total of 30 participants. Scholarship applications and registration are available at www.RAB.com, and will be accepted through JULY 25th.
"We are delighted to provide these 15 scholarships to promote the advancement of women in Radio management," MI SVP/Licensing MIKE O’NEILL said. "The RAB continues to provide the highest caliber of training in the Radio industry.”
"The RAB is committed to the advancement of women in Radio," RAB EVP MIKE MAHONE said. "I'm very pleased that BMI has graciously offered to underwrite this program and for the opportunity to work with the MIW on this important endeavor."
