The FCC has fined two licensees for failure to install Emergency Alert System equipment. FM 92 BROADCASTERS, INC. was slapped with a $5,000 fine for a violation at its Hot AC KMZE (POWER HITS Z92)/WOODWARD, OK, where the Commission discovered the station shared an EAS unit with Country KWOX (K-101), which is not a co-owned station. KWOX licensee OMNI COMMUNICATIONS, INC. got an $8,000 fine because its EAS unit skipped some tests.
In addition, the Commission proposed a $7,000 fine against BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA for a late license renewal application at WBUQ/BLOOMSBURG, PA and reinstated and granted a frequency change and power increase for HAROLD SWIDLER's Classic Country WIOO-A/CARLISLE, PA over the objections of RADIO ONE.
