This TUESDAY (12/20), two local KANSAS CITY bell ringers for the SALVATION ARMY had their buckets of cash stolen costing them a couple hundred dollars just days before CHRISTMAS. CBS AC KSRC (STAR 102 KANSAS CITY'S CHRISTMAS STATION) invited the SALVATION ARMY on the air yesterday (12/22) to help.
STAR 102 wakeup team JEANNE ASHLEY, KIMBERLY JUSTICE and JUST PLAIN DAVE took $50 donations to recoup the money back and in return would play any Christmas song the listener wanted and send out a holiday greeting. In just over two hours, well over $1,000 was raised. They charged more than $50 before they'd play "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" which limited the repeat of that holiday love/hate classic.
