The TENNESSEAN is reporting that Country singer RONNIE McDOWELL has released a brand new song about rising gas prices, and it's already catching on at some local NASHVILLE radio stations.
WHIN, INC. Country WHIN-A/GALLATIN, TN first played it on TUESDAY morning (7/1) and phones rang off the hook from listeners wanting to hear it again, and asking where they could get a copy. The same situation happened at GAYLORD Country WSM-A/NASHVILLE, where morning personality BILL CODY says the station received great response.
CODY said: "A farmer called and he was almost to the point of being emotional, 'Listen, it costs me $178 to fill up to start my day farming. Play it again.' We wound up playing it again within 30 minutes because the phone calls for that period we had, the phones just lit up."
The song, which McDOWELL wrote and recorded just last week, has been submitted to his label, CURB RECORDS, but is not yet available for purchase. For more on this story, click here.
