Radio Vet Charlie Payne Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former WCPK-A/CHESAPEAKE, VA owner and KGVL-A/GREENVILLE, TX, KIXL-A and KLIF-A/DALLAS, and KABL-A/SAN FRANCISCO PD and WINS-A/NEW YORK GM Dr. CHARLES F. "CHARLIE" PAYNE, who died FRIDAY in DALLAS at 84. PAYNE, who started as a teenager at KAND-A/CORSICANA, TX, is a member of the TEXAS RADIO HALL OF FAME.

PAYNE's family will receive visitors at SPARKMAN/HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME in DALLAS on TUESDAY 7-9p CT, with a funeral service on WEDNESDAY at noon.
