Library To Honor 'Giants of Broadcasting'

The LIBRARY OF AMERICAN BROADCASTING has set its sixth annual "Giants of Broadcasting" awards ceremony and luncheon for SEPTEMBER 25 at NEW YORK's GRAND HYATT HOTEL.
Honorees this year include NBC President BOB WRIGHT, actor WILLIAM SHATNER, WBEB (B-101)/PHILADELPHIA owner JERRY LEE, ABC NEWS anchor/reporter COKIE ROBERTS, former FCC Commissioner JIM QUELLO, WNET (TV)/NEWARK-NEW YORK President Emeritus BILL BAKER, and pioneering TV news producer LUCY JARVIS, with ABC sportscasting legend JIM MCKAY, syndication giant ROGER KING, and NBC NEWS "MEET THE PRESS" host TIM RUSSERT honored posthumously.
CBS NEWS' CHARLES OSGOOD will emcee the event for the fifth year.
