The FCC is proposing a $5,000 fine against COX RADIO for EAS violations at Country WKHK (K-95)/COLONIAL HEIGHTS-RICHMOND, VA. The Commission says that the station failed to protect the switch used to generate EAS tones, which resulted in EAS tones being sent out followed by WKHK's regular programming instead of a test message or actual bulletin.
In addition, the Commission granted an amended application by HILL AND GLOVER BROADCASTING, LLC for a three-tower array for a new AM in BEND, OR over the objections of JULIA A. FOLLANSBEE, who charged that the towers would impact a private airpark; fined SUDBURY SERVICES, INC. $9,000 for public file violations at KLCN-A/BLYTHEVILLE, AR; fined TOL-TOL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. $4,800 for a late license renewal application and unauthorized operation at WILA-A/DANVILLE, VA; and fined MUSKEGON TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER $250 for a late license renewal application for LPFM WMMT-LP/MUSKEGON, MI.
