The SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION TRAVELING EXHIBITION SERVICE (SITES) and the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME have organized a new touring exhibition for NASHVILLE's famed HATCH SHOW PRINT.
"AMERICAN Letterpress: The Art of HATCH SHOW PRINT" will open OCTOBER 11th at the EXPERIENCE MUSIC PROJECT/SCIENCE FICTION MUSEUM & HALL OF FAME (EMP/SFM) in SEATTLE and will tour to an additional 13 museums over the next four years. The exhibit features 126 historical and contemporary posters and 29 hand-carved wooden blocks, some of these never before seen by the public.
HATCH SHOW PRINT is the oldest working letterpress print shop in NORTH AMERICA, now owned and operated by the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME. For more on the exhibit, click here. Check out HATCH's website at www.hatchshowprint.com.
