"An old friend is coming home," Adult Standards simulcast KKGO-A/LOS ANGELES-XESURF-A/SAN DIEGO announced on DECEMBER 30, and it's radio legend GARY OWENS, joining the lineup for 2-5p PT weekdays (taking an hour from the end of middayer MARK MORRIS' show and shifting afternooner JOHN REGAN to 5-9p), according to LARADIO.COM. The REGAN move displaces the first two hours of MIKE JOHNSON's split shift, with JOHNSON dropping his 7-9p hours but retaining 10p-2a.
OWENS was heard on crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL-operated Adult Standards XETRA-A (FABULOUS 690) until last week; that station will shortly be flipping to Spanish Talk under new operator GRUPO PRISA.
