As first hinted on ALL ACCESS today (1/3), the promos for "102.7 K-ROCK will become Free in 2006" were indeed a smokescreen and CBS Rocker KSRX/SAN ANTONIO has spun the format wheel and it's landed on JACK-FM.
CBS RADIO/SAN ANTONIO Market Manager REID REKER said, "Audiences are demanding more from radio than the standard 350 song playlist, and SAN ANTONIO is no exception. As we looked around the country for formats that are being embraced by listeners, JACK clearly stood out as a total success. It crosses all the boundaries and breaks all the rules and we look forward to bringing this fresh, fun and exciting presentation to SAN ANTONIO."
While PD MARK LANDIS will stay aboard, one of casualities in the format flip to JACK-FM is APD/midday personality MR. ED LAMBERT. He's ready for his next programming assignment bringing 19 #1 books while PD at KHKS/DALLAS, among success at both KZZO and KWOD/SACRAMENTTO. Reach MR. ED at (210) 481-6070, or misterelj@aol.com.
Also, leaving KSRX is Production & Creative Services Dir. CATFISH COOPER. Reach him at (214) 394-5477, or fiiiiiiish@aol.com. Night personality GREG "FREE BEER" GIBBINS is also looking for work. FInd him at (214) 498-1715, or smashdizzle77@aol.com.
