Looks like trouble is brewing again for EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK morning host MISS JONES. During the recent NEW YORK CITY transit strike, MISS JONES ripped transit workers, referring to them as uneducated and overpaid losers, and she attacked Transit Workers Union President ROGER TOUSSAINT, calling him a dumb coconut who probably don't have a green card." TOUSSAINT is originally from TRINADAD. NEW YORK City Councilmember YVETTE CLARKE told the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS that it is her intention to introduce a resolution calling for the firing of MISS JONES and the economic boycott of HOT 97 and its advertisers.
HOT 97's morning show ran into trouble in 2005 with their Tsunami song parody that made fun of victims of the Southeast Asian Tsunami of December 2005. MISS JONES was suspended for her role in the Tsunami song controversy.
