Johnny Rotten New On-Air Ambassador For 91X

FINEST CITY BROADCASTING Alternative XTRA-F (91X)/SAN DIEGO has announced JOHN LYDON (aka JOHNNY ROTTEN of THE SEX PISTOLS), as the station's new on-air ambassador for the station. ROTTEN will become the new voice of 91X and share "ROTTEN MOMENTS" on the station. 91X recently became an independent station when FINEST CITY BROADCASTING acquired the station from CLEAR CHANNEL.

"I am pleased and pleasantly surprised that 91X--which used to be a stunningly good radio station--is now going to be a stunningly good radio station once again," said ROTTEN. "I’ve had good bleedin’ memories with (91X) and I’m telling you, it just might have a chance to be as good as it once was."

91X VP/Programming KEVIN STAPLEFORD said, "Since we are newly independent, we have the ability to really mix things up -- and that's what we're going to do."

In addition, 91X kicks off the New Year celebrating its independence with a free concert with up-and-coming U.K. artist HARD-FI on JANUARY 29th at BRICK BY BRICK.
