A 10a meeting today brought bad news for the programming and air staff of BONNEVILLE AC WWZZ (104.1)/WASHINGTON and simulcast sister WWVZ (103.9)/FREDRICK, MD as the format will be replaced by sister Classical WGMS moving from 103.5 to 104.1 and 103.9, with a signal upgrade for 103.9 in the works.
All News WTOP currently on 1500 AM and 107.7, will also be heard on WGMS' previous frequency at 103.5, and on 820 AM until the new WASHINGTON POST STATION is launched in MARCH of this year. At the time, WASHINGTON POST RADIO will be heard only on 1500 AM and 107.7, and will be more in-depth news plus WASHINGTON NATIONALS baseball.
As part of the moves, WTOP VP/News and Programming JIM FARLEY adds duties overseeing the POST station, and GSM MATT MILLS is upped to Dir, of Sales for the BONNEVILLE cluster.
