Bus Bit Goes Bad For WIBT's Cubby

CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Rhythmic WIBT (96.1 THE BEAT)/CHARLOTTE morning show member JASE EDWARD SQUIRES, known as CUBBY on the "AM Mayham" son THE BEAT, was expected to turn himself in to authorities TODAY (8/26), and will face charges after a stunt on the first day of school, reports WCNC-TV.

On MONDAY, SQUIRES boarded a bus headed to Southwest Middle School. The stunt was set for him to "get thrown off the bus," as it was broadcast live on the radio. SQUIRES rode the bus for one stop and then got off. The incident didn't end there, however.

CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG Schools Law Enforcement took out warrants against SQUIRES, and officials said they are taking the incident seriously.

The bus driver who let SQUIRES on the bus has been suspended while the district investigates.

The school's principal also contacted parents who had children riding the bus.
