The ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH's DAN CAESAR is reporting that former BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING Sports KFNS-A-F/ST. LOUIS afternoon host KEVIN SLATEN will return to the local airwaves on OCTOBER 6th as midday host at crosstown SIMMONS Sports KSLG-A (TEAM 1380). SLATEN has been sitting out a noncompete since his APRIL firing for putting CARDINALS pitching coach DAVE DUNCAN on the air without prior consent.
KSLG has not indicated whether SLATEN will host late mornings or early afternoons, but will replace the "SPORTS BUFFET," with MARTIN KILCOYNE and MAURICE DRUMMOND taking whichever slot SLATEN doesn't take. "BUFFET" co-host JAY RANDOLPH JR. has moved to afternoons as POST-DISPATCH columnist BERNIE MIKLASZ's co-host, replacing the departed RANDY KARRAKER, while producer KEN "IGGY" STRODE has also exited.
