CURB/NASHVILLE star TIM McGRAW's annual SWAMPSTOCK event has been postponed until next year due to the effects of HURRICANE GUSTAV on the state of LOUISIANA. Over the last few days, over 20 inches of rain has hit the RAYVILLE area, where the event was to be held, and the state has been declared a disaster area by government officials. Relief efforts are currently underway.
McGRAW said: “We have spoken with local officials and the NEIGHBOR'S KEEPER FOUNDATION wants to lend its support to those relief efforts. Although FAITH and I are personally disappointed, we understand that the priority is people’s homes and livelihood in this challenging time. Our prayers are with our friends and neighbors and God bless them.”
Fans who have purchased SWAMPSTOCK tickets should return to the location from which they were purchased for refunds during normal business hours, beginning MONDAY (9/8).
TIM has posted a list of ways fans can help donate to relief efforts for those affected by GUSTAV on his official website at www.timmcgraw.com.
